The certificate serves as a foundation for advanced studies in business and strategy and the development of effective supervisors and managers. With a clear understanding of the role of management, studies in management of systems and strategy dovetail to provide a foundation for strategic planning. Students are prepared to engage in the business world, locally and globally, with sound understanding of the need for and application of business law.
This certificate is for students interested in developing the skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of strategic directions informed by evidence, business law and knowledge of the international marketplace:
- Working professionals and other non-degree students without a bachelor’s degree (just starting UG studies at SJC).
- Students enrolled in the undergraduate business administration program at SJC (BSBA Degree).
- Students who already possess an undergraduate degree in any major, from any institution (Any bachelor’s degree).
Certificate Program Outcomes:
- Acquire knowledge and competencies within the management and strategy domains.
- Demonstrate critical writing, thinking, calculating, and communication proficiencies.
- Understand the foundation of ethical and professional standards including those specific to the fields of business law, international and small business.
- Obtain the basic training needed to advise and lead on management, strategic and legal considerations.
- Obtain credential that will lead to employment or advancement in management roles.
- Develop the foundation needed for a lifetime of self development as a strategic thinker.

Admission Requirements
As a credit bearing certificate program, students are expected to adhere to SJC’s undergraduate GPA requirements. For those seeking to apply to the Master of Accountancy program, a minimum grade of “C,” or better is required in each course.
The 15-credit undergraduate program provides participants with courses transferable to degree options available through Saint Joseph’s College. Twelve of the required 15 credits must be completed through Saint Joseph’s College. Please have official transcripts forwarded directly to Saint Joseph’s College (attn: Online Registrar’s Office) for transfer credit review.

The Certificate in Management is offered 100% online and includes five 3-credit courses delivered through the Brightspace LMS. Each course is delivered asynchronously over a 10-week term, and the certificate can be completed at one’s own pace. Time to completion will depend on the specific coursework required and prerequisite requirements. If all courses are required, at the rate of two courses per term, the certificate can be completed in 10 months.
