Sports Management B.S.

The primary goal of the Sports Management major is to enable the student to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work in sports and fitness related industries. The curriculum enables the student to apply business knowledge and skills to the unique demands of a sport related industry. The student will obtain a minor in Business Administration.

Completing this degree program will enable students to:

  • Be familiar and apply major concepts and theories associated with business and sport management related practices
  • Understand professional ethics and social responsibility as it relates to sports participation, spectatorship, sports related business activities and professional standards.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in verbal, nonverbal, and written format.
  • Use critical thinking skills to solve problems associated with administering and developing sport related activities for all levels of sport participation and spectatorship.
  • Engage in career development activities to prepare for job success or graduate school entrance.
