BI 213 - Nursing Foundation: Anatomy and Physiology I


In this course students will complete a study of the basic tissues and the organ systems of the human body.  Students will begin to discover the physiological processes that occur in the body and how they relate to the function of the different organ systems and the body in general.  The online lab will allow students to fully engage in the activities of the body and reinforce content.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe the basic physiological processes and structural components of the cell and tissues.
  • Identify the various transportation mechanisms of substances through the cell membrane.
  • Analyze the major anatomical characteristics of each organ system in terms of tissues and physiological function.
  • Apply anatomical and physiological concepts to experiential lab activities.
