SL 315 - Aging Policy & Politics

Leaders in Senior Living need a clear understanding of aging policy, the political influences upon those policies and decisions, and advocacy to effect change.  Policies affecting seniors may be made on the local, state, and federal levels.  As the senior population grows, and as aging research develops, there will be an increasing need to influence, inform, create, and change policies that impact seniors.  The influence of ethics in aging services policy will be explored.  This course will give an overview of aging policies and expose students to avenues for policy development.
