TH 605P - Practicum in Ministry

The Practicum serves to integrate theological knowledge with ministerial practice. Through this project, students will develop professional skills, and increase their understanding in their selected area of pastoral ministry. A Practicum Supervisor will be selected by the student and approved by the school. This person will be the local mentor, someone who has the expertise to provide assistance, as well as serve as a positive role model as the project unfolds.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following: 

  • Integrate theological knowledge with ministerial practice. 
  • Develop your professional skills. 
  • Increase your understanding in your selected area of pastoral ministry. 
  • Reflect and evaluate the learning and practice of ministry. 
  • Promote the practice of skills and knowledge from course work to ministry. 
  • Progress through a practical dimension of ministry in a selected area of ministry. 
  • Identify and draw upon ecclesial and academic resources.
