Fast Track to Master of Arts in Theology

The Fast-Track to the Master of Arts in Theology or Master of Divinity option allows students to take up to four graduate level courses which would count toward the Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies  degree. Those courses and credits will then be waived should the student enter the Master’s program. 

Admission into the Fast-Track requires: 

•    All general education core requirements.
•    Major core requirements TH 101, TH 102, TH 104, TH 220, TH 226, and TH 335.
•    A grade of “B” or above in all theology courses and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

Once accepted into the Fast-Track, students can substitute the following four graduate level courses for their undergraduate level equivalents.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science, Interdisciplinary Studies (BS, IDS)  with a Theology Minor  may also follow the Fast Track into the graduate Theology programs. Admission into the Fast-Track for the Theology minor requires:

•    Completion of all general education core requirements.
•    Completion of the following Theology core requirements: TH 101, TH 102, TH 104, TH 220, TH 226, and TH 335 (Note, requirements for the IDS Theology minor are fulfilled by these courses).
•    A grade of “B” or above in all theology courses and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

Once accepted into the Fast-Track, students take the following four graduate level courses as General Electives in the BS, IDS program.

Additional Requirements:

  • Only graduate level courses with a 3.0 or higher final grade will be accepted in the graduate program.
  • Fast track students have one year from the conferral of their Bachelor’s degree to enroll in the graduate program without formally applying. After one year, students must reapply and previously completed graduate-level courses may be accepted at the discretion of the Program Director. Once readmitted, students are subject to any new program guidelines instituted in their absence.
  • Students who earn a Bachelor’s degree are not required to continue in the Master’s program.
