The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a Banking Major meets the needs of those who wish to become effective managers of people, projects, or their own business. The curriculum has been developed by professionals with combined business and academic expertise from both Saint Joseph’s College and the Center for Financial Training and Education Alliance (CFTEA). Courses require students to apply what they have learned to a work setting and thus are able to immediately test their personal and professional skills.
The carefully crafted CFTEA Banking Major program’s express goal is to ensure that the graduate will have acquired those sound analytical skills that are necessary to become an effective supervisor or manager in the banking industry, or other public or private institution.
The program outcomes for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Banking major include the abilities to:
- Build a well-rounded foundation of topical knowledge unique to the profession along with general management studies.
- Apply theory to practice within the critical areas of management in 21st century organizations.
- Acquire various bodies of knowledge and competencies within specific areas of study or individual fields.
- Demonstrate critical writing, thinking, calculating, and communication proficiencies.
- Acquire broad areas of human knowledge to develop intellectual capacity and deepen insight within general fields of study.
- Understand the foundation of ethical and professional standards including those specific to a field of study.
- Develop a foundation for lifelong learning.
- Obtain credential or degree needed to advance or enter professional career in the field of management.
Credits
Students can transfer in up to 90 credits to the 120 semester-hour credit program. 30 semester-hour credits must be completed at Saint Joseph’s College. Transfer credit can be applied to general education, general elective, business core or business elective requirements.
Consists of 120 credit hours, including 42 credits of General Education Requirements, 36 credits of core business requirements and 30 banking major credits and 9 business elective credits and 3 general elective credits.
