The Environmental Studies major incorporates the principles of biology, chemistry, calculus, ecology, and more. Much of the curriculum is field-based, with opportunities to earn credits through completely off-campus, immersive study. Additionally, this degree program requires two semesters of the same foreign language.
Completing this degree program will provide students with:
- Scientific literacy/competency: Understanding the scientific method, scientific investigation, mastery of content
- Intellectual curiosity/creativity/resourcefulness
- Methodological competence: Graduated independence/self-directed study
- Written and oral communication, interpersonal communication skills

Note:
FY101 - FYE Seminar is required for all first-year students.
If ES106 - Gulf of Maine Environment by Sea Kayak - is substituted for BI300/BI310 it may not also be used to satisfy the elective requirement. |
