MB 705 - Project-Based Capstone


In this capstone course option, students will select a business problem or project in their own organizations or community. Action-based research or process-based approaches will be used to collect and/or evaluate data and propose recommendations and potential strategies. Students will complete a project paper and professional presentation of their project and findings.

Prerequisites & Notes
AC 640, HR 525, MB 500, MB 510, MB 561, and MB 660. 

Must be taken in the next to last or last term in the program.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Synthesize theory, evidence, and published research to comprehensively evaluate a business problem.
  • Conduct action or process analysis research to collect and/or evaluate data to enact positive change in a business.
  • Create a project paper which includes the following:  identification of a  business problem, a synthesis of current literature related to the problem, methodology and data analysis plan, results, and recommendations/strategies.
  • Prepare and present a professional overview of the student project.
