Social Work Professional Licensure Disclosures

The United States Department of Education regulations and NC-SARA (https://nc-sara.org) require institutions to disclose whether a program that leads to a professional license or specific certification meets education requirements for the licensure or certification in all participating states and territories within the United States.

The SJC BSW program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In order to make the most informed decision regarding their chosen career path, students should review state licensure requirements for licensure as a Bachelor-level social worker prior to enrolling in the SJC BSW program. Completion of the program does not guarantee eligibility for state licensure. The following table is for informational purposes only. Official state licensure requirements should be checked via individual state licensing boards since they are subject to change.

The most current information is always on the state website of the state that you wish to practice in. You are eligible to be licensed in more than one state if you choose. The examinations are developed by and processed nationally by the Association of Social Work Boards but the person who wants to be licensed contacts the state in which they want to be licensed.
