HIM 210 - Medical Terminology I


The course focuses on basic medical terminology. Students will begin by learning the Greek and Latin words that comprise medical terminology. Terms related to each of the body systems will be learned, in relation to anatomical terms, pathological terms, procedural and other treatment terms: body structure, integumentary, digestive, respiratory, and  cardiovascular systems.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:

  • Comprehend how body systems work together to perform needed body functions.
  • Describe terms for major body systems and structures including directional terminology for the following: body structures:  body structure, integumentary, digestive, respiratory, and  cardiovascular systems.
  • Describe terms used for major body systems addressed in this course and their components
