TH 520 - Foundations of the New Testament and Gospels


This course examines the following:

  1. the Catholic Church’s teaching on Sacred Scripture, including its relation to Christ, the Church, and our personal lives;
  2. implementation of the historical and historical-critical methods of interpretation;
  3. the Old Testament and historical context of the New Testament;
  4. the formation of the New Testament canon; and
  5. the sacred documents of the Gospels and Act of the Apostles.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
