TH 101 - Introduction to Catholicism

A systematic introduction to the four pillars of the Catholic Church and the foundation of Catholic values. The course provides the basis for the program in Theological Studies.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe what is “Catholic” about Catholic doctrine and theology.
  • Describe the forms and functions of the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed.
  • Distinguish the difference between faith and belief.
  • Recognize basic terms of theology.
  • Explain the Church teaching that the existence of God can be known rationally.
