TH 502 - Catholic Campus Ministry

The course offers a theological framework for Catholic campus ministry with resources for best practice, including a view of the current landscape, and models for and components of campus ministry. It addresses the cultural challenges facing campus ministry today, and imagines strategies for the future.

Course Learning Objectives
  • articulate a comprehensive and Catholic vision of campus ministry.
  • explain the central components of Empowered by the Spirit.
  • discern the model that best fits their campus and university culture.
  • design an outreach plan that is evangelistic and rooted in hospitality.
  • integrate retreats, small groups, social justice and pastoral care into their ministry plan.
  • practice self care as it relates to being a pastoral minister on a college campus.
