An exploration of the meaning, challenges and possibilities of effective, Judeo-Christian centered leadership in the 21 st century.  Students will examine leadership theory from the perspective of the Gospel, and will analyze their own leadership styles, assess the reality of power and collaboration, and demonstrate how all affect their effectiveness in the workplace, home and/or church settings.  Students will discuss the nature of leadership, leadership development and its challenges, vision as the dynamic differentiating the leader and manager, the role of the leader in supervising/mentoring peers and volunteers, spirituality as the integrating force in value-driven leaders and conflict management.  Aspects of the course will include management principles and the concept that ‘Leaders do the right things; managers do things in the right way.’
