The Bachelor of Science, Health Administration program provides students with a mix of required core courses and electives in preparation for a variety of positions in the field of health administration. Students have considerable flexibility in designing individualized programs of study to meet specific career needs. In addition to the required general education courses and the major courses required, students must complete 42 credits of general education electives. The major consists of a total of 120 semester-hour credits.
Completing this degree program will enable you to:
- Acquire a systematic body of knowledge related to the management of health care services
- Apply acquired knowledge and skills to the effective management of health services
- Identify and internalize appropriate standards of professional and ethical conduct
- Develop effective leadership competencies
- Develop effective skills for independent scholarship and goal-directed continuing education
This Health Administration Major also includes a Fast Track to the Master of Health Administration graduate program. Certain restrictions apply. Students interested in taking advantage of the Fast Track Option should contact their Academic Advisor.
Digital Health Professional Credential (CAHIIM/CHiME)
The Certified Digital Health (CDH) Program is designed for all healthcare professionals looking to or currently serving in the healthcare digital space. This program is designed to test one’s knowledge and understanding in the larger healthcare IT industry. The program outlines three levels of certification: Professional, Leader, and Executive. One’s leadership experience and positional standing will make them eligible for one level of certification testing. Credentialing is based on meeting the requirements outlined, continuing education credits, and passing the CDH level examination.
Eligibility Requirements for the Digital Health Professional (DHP):
- One year in healthcare occupation OR
- Digital Health Professional Certificate
- Healthcare related degree
