Partnership with University of New England’s College of Pharmacy (4 + 4 Program)

Saint Joseph’s College’s partnership with UNE’s College of Pharmacy provides qualified SJC Medical Biology students with a path to admission to UNE’s College of Pharmacy. UNE College of Pharmacy guarantees all qualified SJC students an on-site interview for the Pharmacy Program.

Eligibility is based on the following:

  • SJC student completing a Medical Biology, BS with at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a scale of 4.0).
  • SJC student completing all of the required Pharmacy prerequisites (courses listed below) with no grades below C. Note: All specified Pharmacy Pre-requisite coursework must be completed at SJC, and not another college or university without prior written approval from UNE’s College of Pharmacy.
  • SJC student earning a 3.4 cumulative grade point average in Math and Science courses.
  • SJC student completing a satisfactory pre-admission interview conducted by UNE’s College of Pharmacy at its campus.
  • UNE College of Pharmacy having available openings in their program.

Note: Demonstrated excellence in community service, clinical experience and research is strongly recommended.

Application and Admissions Process:

  • SJC students must declare by February 1 of their third year their intent to apply to UNE’s College of Pharmacy as a first year Pharmacy Program student upon completion of their BS degree. Students should notify their faculty advisor prior to the February 1 deadline.
  • SJC students, intending to matriculate at the UNE’s College of Pharmacy campus, must complete a PharmCAS application by February 1 of the year in which the student desires to matriculate to the College of Pharmacy.
