Fast Track to Leadership MBA

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs

The undergraduate Fast Track to Leadership MBA program allows undergraduate Saint Joseph’s College students in any program who meet the admission requirements to take one or two of the three designated graduate courses from the Leadership of Master of Business Administration as electives in their undergraduate program.  With successful completion (at least a “B”) of the graduate courses taken, students who elect to take two courses in each of the five ten-week terms of the graduate program can complete the program in one year.

The fast track option is available to current online and campus business students as their individual program of study and the College’s scheduling allows.  Courses are offered throughout the year and may be offered in the Maymester in a hybrid format, with both classroom and online requirements.

Admissions Requirements

The option to take graduate courses within the undergraduate program is intended only for active students in the online and campus business programs.

Enrolling in Graduate Courses

Undergraduate students are allowed to enroll in the designated graduate courses, taking one or two graduate courses in consultation with their academic advisors, provided the following admission requirements are met:

  • Completion of all general education requirements
  • Completion of ninety (90) credits in the current program of study
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0

Starting the Graduate Program

Bachelor degreed students are officially admitted into the MBA upon:

  • Submission of the 750 word self-assessment essay
  • Submission of proof of an undergraduate degree

Campus undergraduate students in their final semester may apply to the MBA or MACC programs. These applicants may be conditionally accepted, pending submission of their final transcript, with conferral date, for their undergraduate degree.  For detailed requirements, see the Leadership MBA catalog page.

Curriculum

Qualified students who meet all of the admission requirements may choose to enroll in one or two of the following three courses (6 credits maximum).

  • MB 515 - Leadership and Lifelong Learning Credits: 3
  • MB 642 - Systems Thinking Credits: 3
  • MK 500 - Strategic Marketing Credits: 3

Graduation

The Leadership MBA courses simply substitute for the undergraduate courses, so students will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in their program upon completing all requirements. Students then enroll in the Leadership MBA with up to two graduate courses already taken. Students who elect to enroll in two courses per each of the five scheduled terms can complete their graduate degree in one year!
