HA 02 - Global Health


This Continuing Education (CE) course will introduce the student to several critical health issues across the globe, including the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, the impact of health disparities, and how the use of evidence-based practice informs and supports ethical global health priorities. Universal health coverage, fiscal ramifications, and healthcare policymaking globally will also be reviewed.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:

  1. Identify the basic principles and goals of global health as they apply to health determinants, the burden of disease and economic education and social influence on health.
  2. Describe ethical and human rights challenges across the globe and the influence of culture on health.
  3. Recognize the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases and injuries and the prevention transmission and treatment of those diseases and injuries.
  4. Explain how current COVID-19 health policies and communication may impact vaccine hesitancy to minimize death and bring an end to the pandemic.
