BI 214 - Nursing Foundation: Anatomy and Physiology II


In this course students will continue the study of the tissues and the organ systems of the human body.  Students will examine in greater depth the physiological processes that occur in the body and how they relate to the functoin of the different organ systems and the body in general.  The online lab will allow students to fully engage in the activities of the body and reinforce content.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completoin of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Discuss tissues and organ systems in terms of physiological processes.
  • Analyze the major anatomical characteristics of each organ system in terms of tissues and physiological function.
  • Discuss how the body achieves and maintains homeostasis and the consequences to the organs and tissues when homeostasis is not maintained.
  • Apply anatomical and physiological concepts to the experiential lab activities.
