TH 102 - Introduction to the New Testament


This course introduces students to the New Testament of the Bible. A survey of each book of the New Testament will be explored including the teachings on the Good News of Jesus Christ through the Gospels, the beginning of the Church through The Acts of the Apostles, the importance of the Epistles and Saint Paul, and the mystery of the Book of Revelation. The ancient context in which Christianity developed and the New Testament writings emerged will be explored along with the contemporary significance of these writings.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Summarize the major themes, backgrounds, central figures, and literary genres of the New Testament literature

  • Explain the significance of the New Testament texts to the modern age
  • Grow in appreciation of Christian reverence to the Bible as God’s inspired Word.
