MA 106 - Precalculus Mathematics

The mathematics background necessary for calculus. Topics include equations and inequalities, functions and graphs, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions, identities, and inverse functions.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:

  • Deepen understanding of polynomial, rational, and other algebraic functions.
  • Study exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions.
  • Use right triangle and circular trigonometry to solve applied problems.
  • Graph, manipulate, and solve equations involving trigonometric functions.
  • Introduction to limits and the definition of the derivative.
