SL 305 - Continuum of Senior Services

This course will introduce you to the spectrum of services available to the elderly in America.  Evolving models of care delivery and senior living will be explored.  Emphasis is placed on local care coordination, with a goal of providing streamlined, effective services without duplication or gaps.

The leader in senior living, while not necessarily providing direct care personally, will oversee the provision of care to his/her clients.  Acting as a patient advocate, he/she will ensure that all needs are met through the development of relationships with other service providers.  Students will explore the issues faced when a necessary service is not provided locally, and the leader needs to evaluate adding a service line.
