HA 401A - Special Topics: Physician Practice Management, Coding & Audits


This training will provide an overview of coding and audit preparation for physician practices and other outpatient settings.  Basic conventions of CPT coding and documentation will be discussed.  Participants will be able to describe, classify, apply, analyze, explain, and support choices made through the CPT/HCPSC code assignment process for various types of records, including evaluation and management (E&M) codes, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, pathology, and medical procedures. This training will assist participants to choose proper modifiers, as well as to understand the reimbursement process, use of databases, and evaluating coding quality through the Revenue Cycle, including examining the audit and appeals process.

This is a 8 week hybrid course offered in the summer only at this time.
