Biology Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Departments and Programs

Courses must be approved by the Department Chair. In order to ensure an appropriate background for advanced courses, non-Biology majors should confer with the course instructor for admission prior to registration. Usually advanced Biology courses are open only to Biology majors. BI 101-102 offered annually, or its equivalent, is the prerequisite for advanced courses, most of which are offered on a rotating basis.

The use of live or preserved animals is an important part of Biology. Students are encouraged to work with animal and plant life because of the unique experience these offer. Alternatives may be available upon prior consultation with the instructor. Specific policies for each course are contained in each course syllabus.

Required for the minor: (20 credits)

Five (5) courses selected must be approved by the Biology Department Chair.
