Health Studies, B.S.

The major in health studies is only open to students who have completed a minimum of 75 credits through the college’s on-campus nursing program. The health studies major provides foundational learning for students who leave the nursing program, but are interested in pursuing a career in a health or health-related field. This degree does not lead to a professional credential or prepare students for licensure.

With the completion of this degree program students will:

  • Communicate effectively and professionally: verbally, nonverbally, in writing and using computer technology;
  • Apply critical thinking to problem solving;
  • Evidence proficiency in the scientific method as it pertains to human health;
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of health care systems.
