Fast Track to Master of Business Administration

This Fast Track program allows undergraduate SJC students who have been accepted into the MBA program to take up to four (4) graduate MBA courses in their undergraduate program beginning in the junior year.  Successfully completed coursework will be directly applied to the graduate degree requirements, which they can continue immediately following graduation.  Graduate students who elect to enroll in two courses per each of the five scheduled terms can complete their graduate degree in as little as one year, depending on the number of Fast Track courses successfully completed as undergraduates.

Admissions Requirements


Qualified SJC students enrolled in the undergraduate program who meet the following requirements are eligible for the MBA Fast Track degree option:

 

a)  Enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or the Business Minor  , who have successfully completed

  • Economics (EC 203  , or, BA 202)
  • Financial Accounting (AC 210  )
  • Managerial Accounting (AC 211  )
  • Business Finance (FI 301  )

b)  Strong academic standing, with a preferred cumulative GPA, inclusive of prerequisites, of 2.5.To ensure applicants are adequately prepared for success, approval is required.A comprehensive evaluation of overall academic performance will be conducted by their Adviser, Chair of the Business Department, Graduate Business Program Director and Registrar on an individual basis.

c)  Good financial standing.

d)  Junior status or completion of 60 credits.

e)  Application submitted by November of junior year.Application materials include the following:

Waiver


Students who receive a “B” in any or all of the following courses, which will be offered on campus, OR, in online formats, will be able to have up to 12 credits of the following courses transferred directly into the graduate program:

  1. MB 515  - Leadership & Lifelong Learning (campus, online)
  2. MK 500   – Strategic Marketing (campus, online)
  3. HR 500  - HRM-Foundation for Leadership (online only)
  4. (choice of available concentration course) (campus and/or online)

Of course, students must meet all the other remaining requirements for the undergraduate degree.

Note: Courses may not be taken concurrently.

Minimum Grade


As long as the student is able to maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA in their undergraduate coursework and a 3.0 in their graduate coursework, they will be allowed to continue graduate coursework within the framework of their undergraduate degree.

Graduation


Students will first graduate with a Bachelor’s degree upon completing all of their program requirements and may continue their MBA studies by simply enrolling in the next required courses, offered online in five ten-week terms per year.  Students can skip up to two terms without the need to reapply.
