Exercise Science/Fitness Specialist Track B.S.

Exercise Science - Fitness Specialist major prepares students to work in entry-level positions in the fitness field.  The degree program helps students develop knowledge and skills in the areas of health screening, fitness assessment, development and implementation of exercise programs, and application of behavioral and motivational strategies for healthy individuals and those with chronic health conditions.

Completing this degree program will enable students to:

  • Demonstrate competence in health screening, fitness testing, planning, administering and evaluating fitness programs.
  • Understand and demonstrate professional ethics and social responsibility as it relates to the practice of exercise science.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in verbal, nonverbal, and written formats.
  • Use critical thinking skills to solve problems associated with conducting health screening, fitness testing, planning, administering and evaluating fitness programs.
  • Engage in career development activities to prepare for job success or graduate school entrance.

 

Core Curriculum:


In addition, all students must fulfill the college’s core curriculum  requirements and meet the 128 credit graduation requirement.  The First Year Experience (FYE) Seminar  is a requirement for all first-year students.
