General Studies: Criminal Justice Specialization

(18 Semester Credits)

This specialization offers individuals who work or aspire to work in law enforcement a well rounded, values-based, liberal education in a degree-completion program. Program outcomes are as follows:

  • Acquire various bodies of knowledge and competencies within specific areas of study or individual fields.
  • Demonstrate critical writing, thinking, calculating, and communication proficiencies.
  • Acquire broad areas of human knowledge to develop intellectual capacity and deepen insight within general fields of study.
  • Understand the foundation of ethical and professional standards including those specific to a field of study.
  • Develop a foundation for lifelong learning.
  • Obtain credential or degree needed to advance or enter professional career related to each field.

General Education Requirements


The Division of Graduate & Professional Studies offers 4 majors (General Studies, Health Administration, Long Term Care Administration, Radiologic Science) leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. Each major has its own set of core course requirements that provide students with a quality education that enhances their professional skills.

literature, foreign languages, philosophy,

Summer Program


Students may choose to earn credits during a residential summer session. Course offerings are announced prior to each session in a special summer catalog.
