Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Undergraduate Programs

This Fast Track program allows undergraduate students majoring in the Bachelor of Science in General Studies, Adult Education and Training Specialization to substitute up to two designated graduate course electives from the Master of Science in Education program in lieu of two comparable undergraduate courses in General Studies. The credit and curriculum requirements in the Master of Science in Education Program for these two graduate courses are then waived when the student enters the graduate program.

Admission Requirements

Qualified students in the undergraduate program who have completed the following four (4) required courses are eligible for the Fast Track:

·         PY 101: Introduction to Psychology
·         ED 222: Fundamentals of Training
·         ED 322: Advanced Training Perspectives
·         ED 401: Measurements & Evaluation

After being admitted to the Fast Track, students take six (6) credit hours/two courses from the following MSEd elective courses:

·
ED 522: Educational Psychology in place of, ED 301: Educational Psychology
·         ED 540: Adult Education in place of, ED 308: Self-Directed Adult Learning

Students in the undergraduate program must have completed at least twenty-four hours/eight courses before being accepted into the Fast Track.  All students must also have completed the required English Composition course before taking the two graduate course.  Of course, the students must meet all the other remaining requirements for the undergraduate degree.

Minimum Grade

To be eligible for admission to the Fast Track, students must have a Grade Point Average (GPA of 3.0 or better.)

Graduation

The Master of Science in Education courses simply substitute for undergraduate courses so student will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in General Studies upon completing all requirements.  They will then enter into the Master of Science in Education program with the two graduate courses already taken.  Instead of a curricular requirement of thirty-three (33) hours/eleven (11) courses, the curricular requirement after the Fast Track would be twenty-seven (27) hours/nine (9) courses.
