Elementary Education majors engage in early, sequential, and extensive field experiences. As juniors, students complete a full year of internship followed by student teaching in their senior year. Technology is also a prominent component of the Elementary Education major.
The requirements for Secondary Education Certification are an arts or science major, completion of required education courses and a semester of student teaching. Students wishing to pursue Secondary Education must meet early in their freshman year with the Education Department to determine the sequencing of courses.
A grade of “C” or above is required for all education courses. A student receiving a grade below “C” will be required to retake the course.
