Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology

In keeping with the values of Saint Joseph’s College, rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the heritage of the Sisters of Mercy, the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies is proud to offer quality, accredited degrees in theological and pastoral studies.

 

Masters students who do not have an undergraduate theological degree require a prerequisite of six (6) credits of undergraduate religious study in Theology, Religious Studies or Pastoral Studies or the equivalent through a combination of course work and experiential learning. A maximum of three credits may be awarded for experiential learning, which is defined as substantive learning (a minimum of 60 clock hours) through church or diocesan sponsored training.

Seven required core courses (21 credits)

Summer Program


Six semester-hour credits must be completed during a two-week residential summer session.  Course offerings are announced prior to each residency session in a special summer catalog and include many choices.
