PY 355 - Constructivism

Credits: (4 credits)

This course focuses on using the constructivist approach to learning. The emphasis is on how knowledge is constructed, how new learning is influenced by prior learning, and the skills and beliefs that the learner brings to the learning. Five theorists are described in depth: Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg, Bruner, and Bandura. Students will make connections between the theories and develop an understanding of how theories can help the learner make sense of their world.
