ES 301 - Science Seminar


Credits: (4 credits)

This course will examine in detail selected topics in environmental science with a major focus on aquatic ecosystems. Topics will include the fate and transport of organic contaminants in marine and lacustrine ecosystems, the causes and consequences of harmful algae blooms (e.g. brown tide, red tide), heavy metal cycling, and eutrophication.

Notes
Reading and discussion of the scientific literature is stressed (for 3rd year ES majors only).
