BI 300 - Public Health in a Majority World Country II

Credits: 2

The second part of this two sequence course addresses public health issues in developing communities through service learning. International travel over winter break will take students to a designated developing region where they will serve alongside community partners and residents to implement the public health project developed the previous semester in PUB 200. Upon return, students will reflect on their experiences, evaluate the results of their service project, and write a formal report summarizing their findings. Results will be presented to our community partners with the goal of improving resources offered to those they serve. This course will meet from the start of the spring semester until the last week in March. Students who are unable to participate in the travel portion of the course will earn one credit for the course instead of two.

This is both a Community-Based Learning - Required (CBL-R)  and Sustainability-Focused (SF)   course.

Prerequisite/Corequisite
