MG 302 - Human Resource Management

This course is intended to provide students with a current understanding of the fundamentals and emerging developments in the field of Human Resource Management.  You will gain knowledge related to employee topics that managers will handle as part of their daily role and will increase your understanding of how you will benefit from an employee perspective as well.

Prerequisite/Corequisite
Prerequisite: MG 101

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:

  • Demonstrate and explain knowledge of human resource management terms, employment laws, and HR best practices.
  • Explain how various total rewards are used in the workplace to include direct compensation, indirect compensation and benefits.
  • Explain the process for analyzing and problem solving various employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply various federal and state employment laws that govern human resources compliance practices.
