SW 301 - The Brain Processes and Social Work Practice


This course will expose students to the human brain, how it functions and how social issues cause it to malfunction.  Mental illness, substance abuse, poverty, malnutrition will be discussed with the impact on the brain and the social interaction that occurs because of these issues. Scientifically proven interventions will be explored to minimize the damage caused by these social issues.

  • Students will understand basic brain function and development
