SL 410 - Risk Management in Senior Living


Older Americans are prone to many risks, and the effective Senior Living Leader must be prepared to minimize those risks while maximizing quality of life and honoring independence.  This course will prepare the student to be a risk management leader in the areas of disaster preparedness, insurance coverage, legal considerations, regulatory compliance, conflict resolution, and environmental safety.

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Recognize risks inherent in the field of senior living.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.

  • Apply conflict resolution skills in order to maintain resident, family, vendor, and staff satisfaction.
