SL 320 - Communication Skills with Seniors

Seniors and disabled persons often have communication challenges associated with their disabilities or progressive disease processes.  An effective leader must be able to communicate in a manner that the other person understands; furthermore, comprehension should lead to engagement in order to maintain a positive relationship.  In this course, the student will be introduced to communications methods that honor the other person, avoid ageism, ensure two-way communication, and promote a healthy, positive relationship.
