NU 647 - Teaching in Nursing & Healthcare Education Practicum

This course provides an opportunity to apply and test various teaching and evaluation methods in both classroom and clinical settings.

Practicum requirements include 135 hours that are devoted to the learning and teaching needs of nurses working in a wide array of health care settings.

Prerequisites & Notes
All MSN core courses; NU 642; NU 643

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this practicum, you should be able to do the following: 

  • Demonstrate effective teaching methods in classroom- and/or clinical-learning situations. 
  • Demonstrate effective evaluation methods in classroom- and/or clinical-learning situations. 
  • Develop learning objectives related to the nurse-educator role.
