NU 643 - Assessment and Evaluation in Nursing & Healthcare Education


Incorporates current research in assessment and evaluation practices. Analyzes available resources for learning assessment and evaluation and implements evaluation strategies that are appropriate to the learner and learning outcomes.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following: 

  • Discuss the components of student-learning evaluation in classroom/didactic and clinical/lab performance. 
  • Create and analyze assessment instruments to evaluate outcomes (AACN IV). 
  • Plan evaluation strategies for assessment of student learning. 
  • Analyze assessment and evaluation data. 
  • Conduct learner and program evaluation within ethical and legal parameters.
  • Apply learning and teaching principles to the design, implementation, and evaluation of health education programs for individuals or groups in a variety of settings (AACN IX, 12).
