Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following: 

  • Compare and contrast the following models and theories of leadership: situational leadership, transformational leadership, and complexity theory. 
  • Apply managerial, leadership, and organizational processes, models and theories, to practice in today’s rapidly changing and complex practice settings. 
  • Explain how situational leadership, transformational leadership, and complexity theory can provide a framework for nurse leaders in their role as change agents. 
  • Describe and analyze a particular change in a nursing-care delivery system and discuss your role in that change. 
  • Synthesize models and theories of nursing leadership and management in a change situation.
