SO 310 - Aging in America


Credits: (4 credits)

Provides students with a theoretical knowledge base of the aging process, exploring common changes experienced throughout the aging process as well as commonly held beliefs about the elderly. A holistic approach is used so that students’ knowledge of the aging process extends to the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. Students explore adaptive processes which result in or are the result of illness or unhealthy lifestyles, as well as the impact on the family unit by an aging family member.
