HA 500 - United States Health Care Systems


Provides a comprehensive overview of the overlapping health care systems in the United States. It describes and assesses the various system levels, components, and the interrelationship of these elements to the total organization of public policy and health services delivery. The student is expected to understand the biological, behavioral, cultural, and organizational factors affecting the use, organization, and outcomes of health services. The roles of hospitals, health personnel, public health agencies, payers, and regulators are examined. Current system dilemmas and issues are identified.
