The Integrative Aging minor provides students the opportunity to understand a holistic approach to aging, considering a person’s social, spiritual, physical, intellectual, and creative needs. Students will gain an understanding of the foundational aspects of aging and a variety of integrative practices that support healthy aging practices. Students will explore how creativity, wellness promotion, and intergenerational connectivity contributes to increased quality of life and longevity for older adults. With our rapidly growing aging population, the skills and knowledge obtained will provide a significant advantage to our students who plan to work and interact with older adults in a variety of capacities, including but not limited to healthcare, fitness instruction, caregiving, rehabilitation, and recreation.
