The Exercise Science / Sport Performance major provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create effective strength and conditioning programs for athletes.
Completing this degree program will enable students to:
- Understand professional ethics and social responsibility as it relates to the development of exercise programs for the purpose of preparing athletes for optimal sport performance.
- Demonstrate competence in the application of major concepts and theories associated with the preparation of athletes for sport related activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in verbal, nonverbal, and written format.
- Use critical thinking skills to solve problems associated with preparation of sport performance and in the development and administration of exercise programs designed to enhance sport performance.
- Engage in career development activities to prepare for job success and/or graduate school entrance.

PY 101 - Introduction to Psychology - is a recommended elective.
