TH 120 - Embracing the Mercy Tradition


This course introduces the student to the relevance of religion and religious thinking for the human condition and the human story by means of a consideration of the concept of mercy. It includes examinations of the relationship between faith and reason, the spiritiual and corporal works of mercy and the core values of Saint Joseph’s College.

No Prerequisite Required.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to do the following:

  1. Appreciate the relevance of religion in society.
  2. Employ the integration of faith and reason in problem-solving.
  3. Define mercy
  4. Identify and illustrate the spiritual and corporal works of mercy
  5. Apply the core values of Saint Joseph’s College.
