This course offers students the opportunity to comprehend and utilize theories and techniques for helping others cope with the impact of faith on their lives, grounded in a vibrant Catholic understanding of the human person.

Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:

  • Write up a verbatim account of a conversation.
  • Engage in pastoral counseling/conversation with a person in accordance with the needs of the person and the challenges that they face.
  • Converse with others about relationship with God.
  •  Observe and analyze a person’s life stages in the journey of faith.
  • Listen carefully in pastoral counseling and pastoral conversation.
  • Reflect on the role of a deep sense of mercy in the vocation of a disciple of Christ.
  • Synthesize the course’s readings, assignments, and verbatim around the theme of “Spirituality, Discipleship, and Counseling.”
