ED 530 - Statistical Concepts for Educators

Addresses the basic concepts and skills necessary for students to become both critical consumers of educational research and competent producers of statistical research. Course topics include descriptive statistics (graphing and tabulating data, measures of central tendency and variation), the normal curve and standard scores, and inferential statistics (testing differences between means, analysis of variance, correlation, simple linear regression, and nonparametric procedures). The purposes of each analytic procedure, assumptions for its use, and standards for reporting results will be presented.
